It all depends on what your goals in life are. If you goal in life is to have a military career, Air Force would be the way to go. They are the most securely stationed (generaly), and highest paid. Most technical jobs and overall military budget moneys goes towards the Air Force. On top of which you can also gain in and rank and retire after your twenty.
On the other hand, a police officer is a direct link to the community you serve and have that added incentive of living in this community and not facing wars. You can make an excellent life out of being a Police Officer as well as an Air Force Officer, both of are tiresome and rigid work but both give excellent rewards in terms of life long accomplishments and service to country and state.

Air Force has Fighter Jets. Are you saying you want to be a pilot? I didn't know we had soldier type folks who like go out and actually fight and get dirty and stuff.
