Does populatity build confidence or does confidence build popularity?

Confidence builds popularity.

The most popular girl in my junior high school was an overweight girl with zits everywhere. Everyone loved her because she was funny, wasn't afraid to do wacky things, believed she was "beautiful" (to the point where some people; hot boys included; started to believe she was beautiful. I found that disgusting.) .

But I'm sure it's confidence that builds popularity.

In high school there was a really really pretty girl. I mean -Next top Model- material. Boys always talked about asking her out -- but never did. She was shy, self kept, barely spoke even when spoken to, and would sit in the back corner or in the least visable area. If someone commented on a "nice outfit" she would just say "oh its old" and NOTHING more. She was hot. Thin. Beautiful and everything in between. The cheerleading squad asked her to try out every year -- she refused. If she had more self confidence she would have been the most popular girl in school.

i think confidence builds up popularity and den adds on to more confidence which leads to more popularity and eventually boost much more confidence and in the end makes u very popular.

both wayz. u build up ur confidence,then u attract ppl. then u attract more ppl and it gives u even more confidence. but u definetly need confidence to deal with popularity. becuz if how u feel about urslef is based on how many ppl like and know u. ur insecure,and ppl will make u and brake u.

You have to have confidence to be popular. However, with more popularity it can increase your confidence in yourself. Sort of like the guy in John Tucker Must die!
