Hey
Is it actually realistic for me to go on a shopping trip with the aim to buy a 7 megapixel camera for under £100 (in Glasgow)
Thanks

There are some name brand digicams with 7MP available here in the US for under $150, so I would assume they would be under 100 pounds for you. (You may have to look for special sales to get the price.)

Look at Kodak, Olympus, HP, Nikon, Fugi entry models. (Also, older Canon and Sony models) These are basic models, not fancy or super high capability. But they take decent everyday pics.

Do you really need 7MP? It does not have much advantage unless you want to have very large prints made. Less would save money.

Do look for Optical (not digital) Zoom. And one that uses rechargable batteries will save money in the long run. (Plus alkaline batteries run out very quickly in digicams.)

You also need to buy a memory card too. So leave money for that. Get at least 256MB.

Good Luck

no, i dont think there are any good cameras for under 100, or even 200. Maybe you could try eBay and buy used ones. good luck.
