How else are we to define "a good man" without a list of requirements?

I don't want a guy with a grill or pants down around his buttocks. He has to have a job and not being paying his salary for a passel of illegitimate children.

Anything wrong with those requirements?

I think I understand what you mean. I think you're talking about double standards, and even though women apparently ask for a "good man" they are actually asking for a lot more.

In-case I'm wrong, or if someone doesn't understand, the double standard is not very difficult to explain, but it of course varies from woman to woman.

You see, when women ask for a "good man" they certainly do wish a good man. But they also wish him to be a good looking man, a man with a sense of humor, a man with a stable job with a decent cash flow, a man who doesn't have any children or child support issues, etc.

In reality, when they ask for a good man, they are asking for a lot more. They are asking for a man that is not only good, but near perfection, and everyone should know in this world that striving for perfection, or close to it, always ends in failure.

I think women say that they only want a "good man" because it makes them feel as if they're not asking for much, and are thus striving for something that can actually happen, when in reality they are asking for something near impossible.

because there is more to being a good man than just saying you are we all have things we want in a man and things we don't want in a man

my definition of a good man may be very different from yours

and these requirements are different from just being a good man

here is an example to be my man you have to understand my kids are mine and i will not allow any man to come in to their lives and start playing daddy
