I have a min pin. whenever i try to give her treats/bones/etc, she puts them in her mouth and then runs around whining and acting like she cant get it out. i will take it out of her mouth for her and then she does it again. there is nothing wrong with her teeth, i think this is a behavioral issue. ive tried everything, big bones, small bones, everything and she does this. has anyone's dog done this?

HI! i am an owner of a min pin also. her name is foxy. foxy does this also, at first my reaction was the same as yours... i took it away and was all looking at her teeth because i thought maybe her tooth was hurting her. i decided to just let her go with it and walk away. when i came back the treats would be gone and for the longest time i thought she was eating them. then i starting finding treats every where! in my shoes, in my purse, under the bed, buried in the blankets, buried in dirty laundry, in the couch, and just about everywhere else! what i am getting at is that like my min pin yours is probably just excited and wants to bury it. i have found that foxy will not hide a treat if she knows i'm looking. she also hides her toys the same way. as for her making the crying noise... i don't know if u ever have owned another min pin but i have had two so far.. both have cried at me like this. its almost like they are trying to talk! lol. but min pins (atleast mine) make some wierd noises anyway. any more questions or if u just want to talk about ur min pin just email me. i ♥ min pins

I agree that she probably is wanting a place to bury it. My Basset actually "pretends" he's burying his bone the the corner of the room. He digs at the carpet and pushes at it with his nose just like when he's outside.
Your girl may not have figured out what she wants to do with it yet. I'd just let her have it and see what she does. Maybe give it to her outside.
Good Luck! I know mini pins are very active!

This is kinda common- Ive seen it a couple of times. Next time let her outside, shell probably try to dig a hole or hide it. Theres nothing really wrong but might try giving her food as treats and see if she eats those.

it may be that she feels an innate need to bury or store the bone. When she's inside, its much harder to do it. If you take it away, that may cause her to stress...because she DID want it in the first place.

Don't feed her these treats.
Maybe she dosnt like them or it's bad for her.
Get something softer.
