his heart is in the right place, and he thinks he can just stop cold turkey because he's in love with you, but it's rarely that easy. if you do keep on with him, you have to be realistic about the fact that it's a possibility that 6 months, 2 years down the line once the novelty has worn off that he'll start sleeping around again. you need to figure out if that's the type of relationship that you want or need. he needs to be more upfront about why he sleeps around and what his commitment issues are; you really need to get a feel for where he is coming from on this. you know checking in with you when you think that you're about to do something wrong or are in the wrong just isn't enough; it won't prevent anything. it will lead to a lot of arguments though; this could be a convenient way for him to have an open relationship with you; tread carefully ...

If he cheated on women before you, he will almost certainly do it again. He has issues that he should deal with if he really wants to stop, and those shouldn't be your issues. You can not fix him. And you don't even know that he wants to stop -- what he tells you and what he does are two different things. I would get out and seek a more stable and trustworthy partner. Without trust, you have nothing.

Oh, you want to believe him so-oo bad, don't cha?
Oh, you wanna believe he's changed, don't cha?
Oh, you wanna forget what he did to all those others, don't cha?
You know deep down, he's wants to be a good guy, don't cha?

He's playing with your heart. What has he done, what history has he shown, that explains what he said he wants to do. Ask one of the others if he said he was NOW looking for a more "REAL" relationship. What do they say?

But, you wanna believe him, don't cha?

Vegas odds-makers give you a 1 in 500 chance of being his long range girl. Then they snicker. I think they were being generous.
