Doing weights will not stunt your growth. Muscle training is really good for you and will help your bones to become strong, which will reduce your chances of getting osteoporosis later in life! Of course, a moderate program is always good for any age.

Doing pushups mostly works your chest muscles, and also some arm muscles. It will likely tone your chest and arms, not make visible muscles nor make them bulk up.

All the best in your fitness pursuits!

I'm not sure what size u are and how much muscle your trying to get but here is what I did at your age. I'm female, and was only about 79 pounds at your age.. I have 4 brothers so I copied them. Push ups did help some, but only if I did them correctly. Back straight or you'll pull muscles. I increased my protein intake by eating more chicken, fish and beef which helps you create muscle. Then I started chin ups, you know where u grab a bar with both hands and pull yourself up slowly until your chin is above the bar, hold there as long as u can then gently, slowly lower yourself back to the ground. Thats what helped me. If you have a school coach they will know your bodytype and be able to guide you best, or your family Dr. Good luck..

any repititious resistance excercise will help build muscle, just like any cardio vascular/aerobic activity will help you burn fat.
being a 14 year old girl, your not in any real danger of becomeing muscularly bulky, as putting on muscle mass is alot harder than people think (unless your a geneticaly gifted endomorph)
light weights will be fine for you, but if you have concerns perhaps see a sports physisciam (who can also aid you in developing good nutritional habits).

so yeah, you'll get some results, but no, you wont turn into arnie.

alternatively try yoga or pilaties, have you seen madonna's arms, ripped as, but she certainly isnt bulky.

edit: pushups actually work several muscle groups at once, your shoulders, pectorals (chest) biceps and triceps all get use. also if performing push ups corectly, and using your core for stabillity, the work on your abs, side oblics and lumbar (lower back) muscles.

do all aerobic exercises like bike and walk and run and swim now qweight wont stunt anything if used in light amounts like small dumbells and or wrist weights so ask at a sport store or use a can of veggies as a hand weight and get an olde inner tube from a bike and streach with it it acts as a rubber weight set use wrist weights on the feet and hands as you do all types of exercises to go beyound the normal range of the exercise go to the library and get a book on female body builders and study for shape not to built mas just good conformation thats the goal of all body builders the big mass folkes are trying to find the limits you can live in comfort inside the limits and not spend most of the day on one subject like mucles

you have many muscles in the upper body, therefore just doing push ups will not give visible arm muscles. Push ups will work your pectoralis muscle, which is your chest muscles. For arms and shoulders, buy yourself a set of dumbells. you want to do 15-20 reps of bicep curls and lateral raises. you want to do 3 sets of them. Doing upper body weight exercises will not stunt your growth.

Push ups will work your arms some, but mostly your chest. Don't be afraid to use some weights you'll be ok if you don't spend 2-4 hours in the gym. Go ahead and get some light weights and use them for your arms.
Be sure to drink your milk too, as this will help build your bones to be strong with the calcium that it has.

It will make your arms more defined if you combine it with proper nutrition to take fat off your whole body (spot reduction does not work). The width of your shoulders is more governed by genetics and bone structure.

Yes but, It may take a while to see but take a couple of weeks and you will see your muscles. Do not take steroids you will get some manly things like a little mustache that men can see.
