Me and my boyfriend of two years have been fighitng for the past two weeks over stupid, petty stuff. The question after every fight is should we break up or stay together. Neither one of us wants to break up with one another, but we both want to be happy. His dad died about 6 months ago, he hates his major, he hasn't had as much success in his collegiate athletic career as he would hope. I think these are the things that bothers him the most, but when I try and talk to him about it he just says its our relationship that makes him frustrated and sad. What should I do? Is there anyway I can help him or should I just break up with him and let him find out what really is causing the frustration. I love him very much, and everytime I think about ending it I get sick to my stomach. I can't picture my life without him, but I want and deserve happiness.

I've been there too and learned that men usually need space during crisies. They tend to push loved ones away and even start blaming those who are trying to help.for him, the only thing you can do is be a friend. For you, you need to decide if you can handle his attitude for however long this takes. Because believe me, it will become very draining for you and ther is no way you can fix his problems. He has to figure out his own life and you have to protect yours.
Remember, if you let something go and it comes back to you, then it's yours to keep.

You guys probably need a break. But your bf needs to do something and work his problems out instead of blaming people and using excuses to say that they're the problems to evrything. You guys can work it out, you just need to support him maybe give him some space for him to think things through because maybe he has spent too much time on you than his education. This is a common problem for a lot of people.

Dear blah:

Perhaps he is needing to grow up and face reality realizing that not every one can qualify for a athletic career and not everyone can maintain an above average grade. However; for the most part we all have the opportunity to pursue and improve our self being and more importantly to appreciate those who are trying to help us help ourselves. Such as yourself. Don't baby him! even in sports you have to appreciate defeat in order to know how to win" even if it means taking a recess in your relationship.

Best wishes,

leave him alone in his pity party. i think you should leave him if you two cant learn to compromise on the petty things. hes blaming your relationship on his failure. so let him have it. let him learn how to fail without you to fall back on. you said it yourself. you deserve happiness. now go look into the mirror and see how unhappy you are right now. when you leave and move on with your life. look at how happy you really can be.

well what you can do is try to talk to him again if not ,then maybe write him a letter expressing you feelings and telling him what you feel, because maybe he just has to get everything straight in his own head before he trys to get everything straight w/ you
