I am 14 and i know a guy at my church and he is really sweet, nice, talented, cute, and i like him. The thing is, even though we are both freshmen, he is 15. I think this is okay but my best friend says that he's too old and that I should like people my own age. I think she is being ridiculous; it's only a year difference and girls mature faster anyway. Do you agree with her? Please avoid answers like "Aren't you a little young to have crushes? Go do your homework" because those aren't really helpful. Thanks!

A year difference is not that much of a difference at all! My boyfriend is 5 and a half years older than me and we dont feel like there's an age gap between us.

That is definitely fine. Although I am generally older than most of the people I went out with, nobody sees anything wrong with it. If your friends think he's too old, tough. You like him and he likes you, so why should they matter? It may sound crude, but that's the truth, they shouldn't tell you who to date.

a year is fine but more than like five years is kinda weird ie:
a freashman can date a senior (high school)
but a sophmore dating a freashman in collage is weird.
Also the guys dont have to be older then the girlz
