i loved the girl for 6 yrs and dated for over 3 yrs. i moved 3 hrs away b/c of a job but just for a year. it was so hard on her that i would leave her and i made a few mistakes. she eventually couldn't take it anymore. we broke-up 3 mo's ago. she seems to have moved-on b/c the pain was tough at the end. i dearly love the girl but i realize that we are different but not as different as she feels. i can't stop thinking about it and measure every girl to her standards. it is just so hard to move on without her although she seems ok with it. i would do anything for a long-term happiness with her but i'm not sure it would work and i guess it doesn't matter what i think now that she is moved-on. i am so sad and confused and miss her very much. what on earth should i do?

3 hours away isn't far.

This is what you should do: Ask her out to a lunch date on a Sunday afternoon (people are usually free sunday afternoons lol)

Take her out to lunch at a nice place; and tell her how you truly feel. It's a hard thing to do; i know; but you can do it.

If you feel that strongly about her you should tell her how you feel; tell her that you measure every girl up to her standards and none of them can compare. Tell her you can't stop thinking about her. Tell her you don't think your differences are too much and that you'll even work on them for her. Tell her the truth.

After that ask her how she feels about you. Give her time to answer..

If she says she doesn't feel the same or whatever; then forget her; move on with your life.

If she does *which I think she will* say she feels the same. Then restart the relationship. Make it work. Ask her to marry you later on.

Unless this is your first love. If she's your first love these feelings are normal. But if you've experianced other girls than these feelings arent normal and you should really talk to her about it.

( 1 ) If the feeling is mutual then you have to give up some things in life because you are heart has a soulmate. ( 2 ) Communication skills is very important in a relationship when is distant. Try to spend some time on your weekends off or weekdays off or once a month if transportation is difficult. She has to understand your obstacles sometimes changes are hard to manage. That's why communicating everyday is important, talking in the phone or emailing everyday or text messaging everyday that we love each other.

that sucks and unfortunately, for most people, they cant take long distance relationships because they never work well. Distance tears relationships apart because people need physical attention, well a lot of people want that. Communication keeps a relationship to continue, but sometimes you lose touch and dont know what to talk about when you're living in two different places.

I am sorry to hear about the break up. I think you should call her up and tell her how you feel. I think you need closure as well, it take time to heal. Also if it was meant for you two to be together it will happen. Also try to read the Holy Bible or listen to some soft music to relax your mind, body and spirit.
