which of these options has less calories - 2 pieces of ryvita with utterly butterly and marmite on them, compared with a bag of eg cheddar mccoys?

Hi! Well there's about 90 calories in each Ryvita, and about 50 in each serving of utterly butterly. Marmite only has about 10 cals per serving.

So you're looking at about 300 calories, possibly just under! A pack of crips has about 150 calories! But Ryvita is better for you and gives you a more effective and long-lasting source of energy.

If you're on a diet, try getting rid of butter altogether. It would be better to have only marmite on your Ryvita. Even better though is cream cheese, cottage cheese or houmous with slices of cucumber on top.

:-) Hope this helps!

xx Emmie

Ryvita and marmite, enough to put you off food for a week I would think. Go for the crisps.

its not just callories you should worry about, just because a food has a high callorie value doesnt make it bad per say, you also have to consider things like preservatives, saturated fats, sodium (salt) content and wether or not the food contains trans fatty acids.

so forgetting collories between these foods, the rivita's will be a better choice, as most rivitas are a whole meal or whole grain composition (wich means they have a better fiber value), far less fat (both saturated, and trans fatty acids), more nutritional value (marmite is full of vitamin b, margarine/butter is a source of calcium, and a lower glycemic index).

crisps/chips, are very high in sodium (salt), high in saturated fat, and also tend to have alot of trans fatty acids (tfa is caused during the cooking of food, it is when a fat molecule is altered by heat, and is a prime factor in the bodys fat absorbtion rate). also crisps have a a comparitivly hig glycemic index,

It depends on how much butter you use.
Being healthy is about more then just calories, butter is something I won't eat. Crisps are pointless calories also.

I love both fruits and fresh vegetables better, however they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

If perhaps it's a fruit they have seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.
