why not do everything, no matter what, to stop it. there is about 1,300,00 abortions in america every year in the U.S.
if it truelly is genocide, why not bomb abortion clinics? or in the least, harrass and kill a few key people, for effect? You might say that god doesn't want people using those tactics, but then again most americans felt that god was in accordance with the wars that the U.S. have started (vietnam, Iraq, etc.)
Is it because you view abortion as very different than cold murder? Is god gonna punish those who vote for a woman's right to choose? In what way will he condemn these sinners?
i do not feel this way, i am just showing how theologically unsound it is to condemn abortion. If you want to say it is evil, than you can't sit on the fences. If abortion it is a terrible thing that must be stopped in the lord's name, then it is a shame the most people do is sit on their couches (sorry, stand in front of buildings with picket signs) and verbally condemn abortion.

If it really is murder, then why is the only thing people do about it is protest. Why not at least commit civil disobedience?

God wants us to live in peace, and not kill indiscriminantly. To bomb an abortion clinic would be to risk killing innocent lives. Someone may be in there for counseling.
I do not feel abortion is murder, I feel it is the left's way of killing blacks - population control. Look at the % of minorities that have abortions... why do they vote democratic?

It is not genocide. Genocide is like what happened in the Holocaust, or what's happening now in Darfur. Abortion is not genocide.
Why not bomb abortion clinics? I thought you were trying to protect people and preserve the sanctity of life. Harrassment does not good, people aren't necessarily there for abortions, and either way they don't need your input. Why is it your business in what a woman and her doctor have decided to be the best option? Just because that's what you think your god has said? I don't know who the hell said god likes war, but there is no war on abortion.
War isn't good, and frankly neither is abortion, but abortion would be a lot less necessary if people had proper, comprehensive sex ed and access to contraceptives. Abortion does indeed suck, but sometimes it's necessary, and who is anyone but the woman and her doctor to decide what the best option is for her?
Leave god out of it; go on what you can prove. While people do need to be more active about things in general, people also need to act beneficially toward others. Better to sit around than bomb clinics.

Of course, there have been those who did more. Some doctors and nurses have been murdered, and protesters have defied injuctions and even committed assaults on women entering clinics. We justly consider those people along with the terrorists who destroyed the World Trade Center and the Murragh Building.
The reason the majority do not break the law is because most thinking people realize that respect for the institutions of the law are what prevent anarchy, and allow for any form of human community to exist.

OK...meditate on this contradiction for a while, eh?
Abortion is not a good thing. That's a given.
But a lot of the same people who pontificate about the "sanctity of life" are the same ones responsible for this fantasy world thing called "abstinence," and refusing teenagers access to contraception.
The teen pregnancy rate in the USA is 9 times that of the Netherlands, where they take sex education seriously.
Why would we NOT want to allow teens access to contraception and thereby make a SIGNIFICANT reduction in abortions, careless, unwanted pregnancies and also likely prevent the spread of some common STD's?
Would that not be a "win-win" situation?
But nooooooooo.....people are just so caught up in their religion, that they can't bring themselves to see the reality of what's happening around them.
Ohhhh, we don't like abortions, but we're not going to do anything sensible like PREVENT careless pregnancies!
You can't have it both way, folks. I know you THINK you can, but you can't.
Then, I wish someone would come up with a workable way to penalize people for NOT using contraception. Lord knows, it's just such "rocket science," right?

It IS really murder. However, blowing up abortion clinics would only kill more people, and would forever harden the hearts of people who might have believed differently. People protest because it is wrong, but other than that, there is nothing more that we can legally do. And there is no such thing as a "woman's right to choose". Ok? All people have the right to life, unborn or outside the womb.

I am pro life and do not picket anything. I do not think other Christians should either. How is picketing creating peace? How are you seen as a loving vessel when you shout judgments to the very people who need Godly guidance? Throwing the first stone is what it looks like. Hypocrites!
Abortions and war are like apples and oranges. Judgment and revenge both belong to the Lord (He is the only one qualified) so I get off my couch to vote peacefully and let others make their decisions as they may.
Christians are not here to force others from sinning, we are to be a light unto others with love and compassion, showing mercy and forgiveness. So I agree, that is not done well with a picket sign or a bomb.

Personally, I feel that abortion is murder. However, the courts of the US have decided otherwise. God gave us free will, what right do I have to attempt to take it away from another? As far as the eternal judgement of those who to vote to keep abortion legal, those who make it available to others, and those who choose this option -- I can't say. Judgement is reserved for God and God alone. The sin of others does not justify our sins in his eyes -- the murders you suggest we commit to prevent abortion are equal to the murders performed in the clinics themselves.
The early Christians did not sit around and complain about the un-Godly laws of the Roman government. They did not protest their right to worship as they pleased, let alone suggest that the beliefs of the leaders should be altered to fit them. They simply strived to lead a Christ-like life in a world that was full of sin. This is one example that I believe we should follow.

Some of us DO commit civil disobedience. That's why they made those laws restricting access to people entering the clinics. But you propose that we take a Muslim approach. It is NOT our place to act in God's place, any more than it is the terrorists place to judge who will always be 'infidels' and who will not. Besides, two wrongs don't make a right. Killing abortionists, while satisfying, wouldn't be any more acceptable than murdering babies before they see the light of day.

The bible was written by people. Is it right to abort your child? Who knows, but that person? If you would be emotionally unable to give than child a life, even say through adoption, which is not an easy thing, then should you ruin your own life to have a child? and be a horrible parent? I mean, really, we al make our own moral decisions, and no one is god. The spiit in each of us is god, the soul is god. We must do what is right for ourselve and our families unless it will hurt people. abortion does not hurt anyone.

I think more people should vote against abortion but their is so many wicked people in this world they just don't really care if those poor babies live or die. This one lady who told the doctor she wanted to have an abortion the doctor said ok why don't you just give your 4 year old daughter right here beside you, and she said no and that she loved her daughter. The doctor said you should have the same love for the baby that is coming into this world. I think we need more docters like that in this big world we live in. I don't think we should bomb or kill the people in the clinics their just going to die and go to hell. Wer'e here to tell people about Jesus.

Abortion is murder, but its stupid for religious moralists to try to be moral about this. It wont affect a woman. What will affect the woman is the guilt associated with murdering her own baby. The notion of ''what if i keep that baby'' what could have become of my life ?
Ive heard of many women having abortions and then regretting it later on. Feminism has alot to answer for in this abortion on demand mentality we have in the west. I hope its repealled and people are forced to take responsibility for their actions.
