Yes, because of the calorie content and because olive oil has a low smoke point (it breaks down at lower heat than other oils).
Aside from calorie concerns, the best oil for frying is peanut oil.
"Deep-Frying
The role of extra-virgin olive oil in deep frying is a bit ambiguous. Some studies say that it is the healthiest choice, while others say that because it has a lower smoke point than other fats (it smokes at 250° as compared to 410° for both olive and peanut oil), it is not safe. The debate remains academic, because the high cost of extra-virgin olive oil makes it an undesirable choice for deep-frying.In fact, to fry properly with olive oil, at least 2 to 3 cups are needed to fill the pan so that food can float around and acquire a golden color and a delectable crisp texture. We advocate the use of regular, virgin olive oil or canola oil for deep-frying; you should save the extra-virgin for other uses which allow its true flavor to shine through."

Depends on what you are cooking, how much oil you use and how much you eat of the fried item.
Baked is better, if frying use no more than 6 teaspoons per skillet of food and that is hopefully divided with several other people.
Olive oil is much better for you than a solid shortening product. Canola, soybean and olive are the healthiest oils to use, but olive is best.
It all depends on how you use it whether it is still healthy.

Well, yes and no. It is still just as high in fat as vegetable oil. However, olive oil has much more of the monounstaured fat which is considered to be a heart frendly fat. It also contains Omega-3 acids which are heart smart also.

Yes once you heat olive oil it turns it into a bad oil, apparently it changes its balance. I know it sounds weird but I saw it on Oprah with Dr. Oz check it out.

Olive oil and Sesame oil are the most nutritious oil that you can have, so no it won't be unhealthy.
Unless that they are commercialized and exposed to pesticides, preservatives and much sunlight.
You should use the ones found in naturalist stores
