If you are in Air Force inactive reserve, what are the exact commitments? How much training, can you can be called up to active duty, etc.

Extra Credit:
If I were to complete AFROTC, serve a four-year active duty commitment, and then have a four-year inactive reserve commitment, could I transfer that commitment to say, two years of active duty?

Inactive reserve is just an adminstrative thing so that the Pentagon "could" call you back in an emergency although it is extremely unlikely they would, especially for the AF. No work or training is involved, you are out of the military. And for extra credit, no, it doesn't work that way.

You can do all your commitment active duty if you like. If you are inactive reserve you only would do training if they put you back active. I just worked my regular job and kept my uniform and stuff handy until my commitment was up.
