I think anything can be a religion. If you believe in it and follow it with faith (or religiously, lol) then it is a religion. It doesn't matter if it is an organized religion or not.

A religion is a set of beliefs about things that science has yet to ponder or explain. Buddism involves a belief in reincarnation, which is one of the many things that make it a..... drum roll.... religion!
