I'll admit that I'm the shy guy. I would like to know where I can meet young women from late 20's to late 30's without going to the typical bar scene. More importantly, how can I overcome sounding tongue-tied especially before beautiful women? I would rather say nothing instead of coming across like a idiot.
Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why don't you go to places you like to go? That way, you can meet girls who have the same interests as you.
As for the tongue-tied thing, I do the same thing, except around hot guys. What I do sometimes is that if you're trying to say something but get tied up, make that "bleah" kind of smiley noise and start over. Laugh it off, kind of.

it depends on what kind of girl you're looking for..if you're looking for the partying and outgoing type i would try some local bars or hotspots (like clubs for example). if you're looking for a more reserved, shy girl, i would try the bookstore, like barnes and nobles (i know this sounds sort of cheesy, but a lot of girls tend to hang out there especially if its a location that has a cafe or starbucks inside). Another option is the mall or stores like ACMoore
the whole being shy thing is actual a real turn on, for me at least, because it shows that the guy genuinely cares what you think. however, it is important to act somewhat confident. when you talk to her, just act natural. don't try to impress her, be yourself and she will like you for it. if she doesn't, than that's her problem.

You can meet women everywhere, the library, the grocery store, even church. As far as what to say just make small talk if their interested they will bite.

Join a gym. Take some classes there. Or, if you are religious, get involved with your church. Keep yourself busy and social and you will meet someone.
