The enamel is gone and if you are bad lucky the nerve might be exposed. You need to have the dentist take a look and there is almost certainty that the doc will have to put a new filling in.

And it could be more serious than that depending on what happened during the chip.

in the mean time you might be able to make due with some warm salt water swishings and perhaps some sensitive teeth tooth paste

But go get that tooth looked at.
