England would win. The size of a countriy's population doesn't necessarily make it the winner. Just look at how Japan easily defeated Chinese armies in World War II. Also, not many people know this, but China did have a war with Vietnam partly because Vietnam sided with the USSR after the Sino-Soviet split. You'd think China would overwhelm Vietnam but that war was more like a stalemate! Military analysists say that if China wanted to invade Taiwan, it would have a hard time succeeding. Last but not least, England did dominate China once before. :P

Depends on how you define win. I think China could make a nuclear first strike that would take the heart out of England but I don't think that China has the force projection ability to invade England.I am not sure that the US could do that without a staging base in Europe. Also you would have to consider what the rest of the world would be doing while China was doing all this. England has lots of friends. Not the least of which is the US.

Let me save you the trip to a used book store. Research of
fiction from the Cold War onward when published in the UK
shows plucky England usually winning a military contest with China. I'm confident that reading fiction published in the USA from the Cold War onward will usually show the same result.
Ditto, Israel and (Here I go out on a limb), Fidel Castro. You need to be able to read Chinese if you want fiction how the Chinese usually win every war outside their borders; which, outside of N. Korea and Tibet, the Red Chinese refrain from.

P.S. Yes, Cold War fiction is being recycled. Go figure.

Can the fighting include unethical forms of attack?

-One non-nuclear ICBM vs the Three Gorges Dam = 1/3 of China's population decimated. No deployment of troops necessary, as China would have to scramble to salvage itself from the most devastating disaster in Human history.

China definately.Even if Europe had Allies and the most advanced weapoms in the world, china would crush them.Sure Chinas allies are realatively weak, but those countries have much to offer,Especially N. korea. The koreans have nuclear weapons, and china would jump at that chance if the needed. So Europe doesnt have a chance.
