yea, lawan means fight such as melawan, dilawan, berlawan, its in a malay word. the ones i stated up there is added with imbuhan and there are plenty more words than lawan. example, bergaduh and so on.

Lawan means fight. Fighting is berlawan.

"Lawan" is a malay/indonesian word. "lawan" is mean "to fight", or also mean "opponent". For example, "ayo lawan dia" mean "let's fight him/her", but "dia adalah lawan kamu" mean "he/she is your opponent".
