sequential electrical nerve stimuli for the use with chronic pain? Have you any experiences with this?

Thanks

It is DEFINITELY not TENS. SENS is where there are wires and a battery pack inside your body. You have a remote for the tiny computer inside you which controls the pulses which are sent to your nerves.

this is fairly new and not many places practice it. My Mum has just got it and I just wanted to know what their experiences where with it.

Again I would like to point out it is NOT TENS (TENS in my opinion does not work on chronic pain and barely helps people with lesser pain).

I've worked in NHS for a long time and have not heard of it so it sounds as if it is a fairly new treatment. From what I remember from a TV programme there is a treatment a bit like TNS but the electrodes are attached internally near a nerve-maybe this is SENS. TENS has been around for at least 20 years and is worn externally and you can buy them at your local Boots store. The hospital which implanted the stimulator will supply information about it if your mum asks, but they're unlikely to tell you if you're not with her. You could try NHS Direct and see if they can tell you anything about the treatment or where you could find out more. Their number should be in your local phone book.

Yes I have, I used to even have the small pack (size of a pager) This works fine for a while but still can flare up. It's best to lay down with low music, put the lines to your achy spots (2 Lines) then turn control to where you think you might like best. The constant bugging motion will work with your pain and calm you, allowing nerves to relax cause temporally stop all pain. Is not a cure but a simulator.
I found it to be good I guess but wouldn't claim it works all that well.
Just my opinion, others my feel different.
