I'm a huge fan of Webshots.com. You can join for free..download 5 professional shots per day, and unlimited from users. And some of the pro's post for free. Plus the have widescreen if you join, which is so hard to find.
You can also set all your downloads as your screensaver. Only downside is don't go there unless you have a lot of time to kill...it's one of those sites I always spend too long at lolol

If you mean, not photos, but just patterns, for my money (pun intended) there's an inexpensive CD you can buy from www.grsites.com (I got mine for $15, I don't know if they've raised the price). It's got lots of backgrounds you can fetch and panel as wallpaper on your screen. (It has lots of other clipart, too.)

form "pc wallpaper" in google seek. Or in case you're searching for for something especially use image seek and form in "[something] wallpaper]". this is the way I do it.

Its best to buy the software because downloading them from the internet generally leads to viruses.
