When I am in the middle of a meal I consioulsy ask myself if I am full. Sometimes we don't even realize that we are; we wait untill the plate is nearly empty or we can't fit anything more.

So while your in the middle of your meal ask your self if you are satisfied and if eating anything more will get you stuffed.

Also do not watch TV when you eat. Eat somewhere relaxing if possible, really take the time to enjoy what you are eating; you will see that without distractions the food will satisfy you more.

Drink a full 8-ounce glass of water before each meal, you'll want to eat less. Drink another glass of water before you start on a snack. Maintain a healthy diet, that's important. The water is good for you, by the way. Sorry about the extra bathroom trips, but it's a small price to pay.

Snacking is healthy, as long as it's healthy foods like unsalted almonds, carrot sticks, or a protein bar. Just don't too much or more than 6 times a day.

Also notice when you're eating and snacking. What's your mood? Is it always when you watch TV? Be aware of your "routine" eating and try to change it.

Lastly drink plenty of water. Sometimes we mistake hunger for thirst, and water is a great thing to fill up our hungry tummies.

One of the reasons we over eat is because we are waiting too long between meals. I always recommend a good breakfast (oatmeal w/toast) or cereal with fruit, a good lunch maybe a sandwich with deli meat, and a healthy dinner.
If you can choose a healthy snack to have in between breakfast and lunch and then again between lunch and dinner-then you won't be so hungry at your meals and over eat. Be sure your meals and snacks are healthy. You can always find healthy snacks online by typing in your search engine "healthy snacks" or even "healthy breakfast" etc. Hope this helps......

I agreed with one of the writers. Drink a glass of water before every meal so you can fill up quickly.

As per not snacking, its ok to snack away as long as you snack healthy. Eat nuts like cashews, almonds, and walnuts as they will fill you up and hold you over till your next meal. Fruits are good too.

You should try to keep yourself occupied, that way you won't think so much about food and the temptation to snack will not be so great

I read somewhere that it helps to drink a glass of water before every meal so your stomach fills faster. You should aim to drink 64 ounces a day of water.
