I was hit really hard from behind causing me to slide in the back of a car. My car was a total loss the other driver told the police she had a problem with her brakes. Her insurance company cut me a decent check for my totalled car. A month later I began to feel pain and started going to the chiropracter. He then gave me the scoop on on contacting an attorney to get a case with her insurance company. The first year they tried to settle with me a little money, I refused. The second yr they did the same with a slight increase. Now its time for mediation; to settle the case and I don't know what to expect. My lawyer will be negotiating with the drivers lawyer im suffering from neck and back problems.

Don't you know that when chiro's refer you, mention to you, or advise you on getting a lawyer they're up to no good? The chiro & the lawyer that is. Do you honestly think the chiro & lawyer are after your best interests? Of course not, and the insurance companies, as well as mediators, know it & frown upon these types of cases....the chiro bills for services not received, "unblundles" charges, or flat out overcharges for their services, the lawyer & the chiro split the difference, and you're left with hardly nothing. Remember that intake sheet you filled out where it asks you "how did you hear about us?"
I've been in the lawyers office overhearing the "paralegal" on the phone with the doctor directing the course of treatment for the injured person and how much to charge for it.....

This doesn't mean you weren't hurt...of course you were. But you're about to become a victim in all of this through absolutely no fault of your own...and if you're okay with that, then enjoy whatever cash you receive. But just so you know, the lawyer isn't going to do for you what you aren't capable of doing for yourself.

haha.. your chiro referred you to a lawyer? You do realize they are using you to get money right? You have soft tissue injuries and didnt even give the insurance company a chance to settle with you without a lawyer... a lawyer is only in it for themselves.. after their bills and the lawyers get paid.. expect very little for yourself.

Your attorney should be the one to answer this question. He or she should be able to put a definitive amount on your pain and suffering.
