Personally I think the sex ed curiculum that is being taught in alot of schools, should not be taught to our kids. I think teaching our children about sex is the parents job. I think if the schools are going to teach anything on sex ed, I think that it should be the anatomy, but I feel that it's not the school's place to teach kids about oral sex, anal sex, and homosexuality.

Just curious about how other parents think about this.

What I'm talking about is what is being taught to kids in schools today. When I was in school, those things were not taught in school. But in schools today, kids are being taught about homosexuality, and kids are given condoms in the schools without parental concent, the schools basically tell the kids we would rather you not have sex, but if you do, here's a condom.

They teach safe sex meaning use protection, instead of the safest sex and that's not having it at all, by abstaining, and applaud any teen who makes that choice.

I absolutely agree with you. The schools are introducing books on homosexuality and garbage like that. I think they should teach abstinence, actually it is not a school matter.
It is a parent matter

Where the hell did you go to school? Never did any of my teachers EVER talk about those topics. I think some of my teachers would have rather dropped dead than talk about those topics. And I went to public school.

We talked about proper growth and development of the human body, stages of pregnancy, the general process of birth and care of an infant, birth control, STDs, and hygiene. And that was with the inclusion of an advanced class in child care that I signed up for.

The school is suppose to give facts. "Your body functions in these manners. If you do this act, these consequences could occur." I think schools should be allowed to give basic sexual education. A parents job is expand on the basics to give their child a well rounded and fully explained education as appropriate to the family's beliefs.

Edit - They teach abstinence. In fact you can't get federal funding if you DON'T teach abstinence. Condoms are a fact of life, and they are not age prohibited. IE- a kid as young as 8 can save a few bucks and go buy some. Then go blow them up and vandalize his sister's room.

I will disagree with you concerning homosexuality until both of our bodies are rotting in the grave and the worms are having a feast. As strongly as you are against it, I am tolerant and accepting of it.

Look, I know that you are heavily religious. I won't knock you for that. It makes you happy and brings you peace. Fine. But if you don't like what public schools are teaching take your kids out of it and put them in a private school or home school. Each kid puts a certain amount of money in public schools pocket. When a kid is pulled out the money for that child is NOT put in the schools. If enough people take their kids out, a point will be made.
