And if possible please add what known architectural style is ideal for a hot and humid environment and more specifically what are the building materials thought to be ideal and why?

Thermal Comfort - It is hard to define due to its highly subjective nature - each individual has a differnent definition as to what is comfortable. it also is differnet due to cultural and gender issues. I've seen 2 individuals in the same room where one complained of being too hot and one too cold.

As for the hot/humid materials and architectural styles - try ASHRAE
