have a 40 watt guitar amplifier and was wondering if it would be possible to boost up the amps, like to 60 watts or maybe even higher.I want to know because I want to build a cabinet for it but I already tried hooking it up to some other speakers and theres hardly any difference.I was thinking that maybe if it had more watts it would be louder,so if thers like a pedal or sothig like that I'd like to know about it.if not thanks anyways.

No, you can't modify your existing amplifier to produce more power.
The pre-amplifier sugested by one correspondent won't help.

An amplifier which gives more power is the only way to make your sound louder.

However, note that doubling the power will make very little audible difference to the volume.

To get a perceived doubling of volume you will have to increase the power by ten times.

Yes more wattage would increase the sound level but the only way to do that is to buy a larger wattage amplifier. The amplifier you have is rated at 40 watts because that is what it can safely handle. You may be able to buy a preamp to boost the signal going into your amp and this will make it sound louder. However, doing this means you are driving the amp harder that it was designed to run. I suspect the protective circuitry will trip if you try this.

The wattage is right for the speaker you have. More would probably blow the speaker. The reason that you don't here a diff when you add more speakers is because you haven't boosted the output. In order to get more sound from more speakers you have to boost the power. If you don't then you are only splitting the available power among more speakers. That equals less power per speaker and the same total amount of power you started with. If you are using more speakers then up the watts. It will get louder. If you stick with the one speaker more watts will probably blow it.

depends on OHM output. build your own cabinet if you want and buy an appropriate head.
