What are her health problems?
Rat bait works by destroying the bodies ability to clot blood, so the animal bleeds to death. This happens at about 48 hours after ingestion. The problems your dog is having now are likely not related to the rat poison from last summer.
We treat rat bait toxicity all the time at the emergency clinic. The prognosis is very good once treatment is started, althought sometimes treatment has to be very aggressive (Vit K, plasma and/or blood transfusions if needed, etc). It depends on how early treatment starts. Once they have regained the ability to clot blood, they do very well.

I think you might find her to have more health problems.
There are so many unknowns with poisionings. It more then likely did damage or at least weakened her immune
system and possibly some major organs ( i.e. liver, kidneys, pancreas) You don't mention what these problems you are seeing are, so a definite answer is hard
to give. Hugs to your buddy. She has won one of possibly many 'fights' for life.

That is very serious. Bring your dog to a vet immediately (if you haven't yet) and explain the situation. It's possible that the poison could have ruptured the stomach or caused some type of late intestinal failure, maybe even cancer. Get your dog some help right away before its too late!!!!

I am so sorry! it must have been awful for all of you!
It is very hard to answer you unless you tell us what kind of poison he ate......and what problems he is having now.
When in doubt.....go see your vet! the health of our best friends really is worth it!
Best of luck!
