I'm attending a five-week performance workshop at Berklee School of Music this summer and I need to prepare a vocal audition. The piece needs to be short and I only have one shot at it. I'm a soprano (if that helps at all.) Any suggestions?

It's hard to tell you something without more information: how old you are, how long have you been singing, how are you at foreign languages, are you a high soprano ( lyric, spinto, dramatic, etc) what have you sung before that seems to suit your voice well, etc.
Picking a song is like, well, picking a card out of the deck. there are so many choices
Get back to me, and I'll be glad to add something positive..

It depends. You aren't saying whether this is musical theatre or opera. Musical Theatre (good for most soprano types)
Goodnight My Someone "Music Man"
How Could I Ever Know "Secret Garden"
Tonight (just solo soprano) "West Side Story"
Out of my Dreams

Opera/Oratorio
Ach Ich Fuhls "The Magic Flute"
One of the solos from Dvorak's Te Deum.....they are very different so it's nice to choose the one you really like.
Steal Me Sweet Thief "The old maid and the Thief"

I could give you more ideas, email me if you need to.

making a music is extra of a skills, than something which you will study; even though it does happen in case you have potential. so which you will ought to Ace the audition. I advise looking different procedures to gaining scholarships or being usual.
