Hey-- i think the vet knows better than any of us and these sores sound not so good, i suggest taking her back to the vet because they SHOULD NOT be reoccuring, especially after steroids: she could have something else seriously wrong with her. Maybe try and call the vet and see if he can reccomend anything over the phone without the costs of having to come in.

If she has allergies, they will come back once steroids have stopped. You will need to find the source of her allergies. Allergy testing may be the way to go. You should consider seeing a veterinarian dermatologist. Ask your family vet if there is one in the area.
Allergies are very common in dogs and cats-more so than most people may think. There are treatments that may help, other than steroids.
My dog has allergies and was diagnosed by a derm specialists. She will likely be on medications her whole life.(she is allergic to dust, of all things)

Starting out by changing her diet is great first step. Food allergies are very common, but the trick is finding a food that does not contain ingredients she is allergice to. This can be very hard. Science Diet and Eukanuba have a great diets for this purpose. You will need to make sure your kitty eats absolutely nothing else...ever. Otherwise, changing her diet will not work.
Talk to your vet about food trials.

Have you tried changing her food? Our cat did this and we thought it was stress related as well because it seemed to occur when my fiance went out of town. We change her food and she hasn't had any since. She's now on Science Diet Indoor
