Jesus was a cool guy. He really understood what Spirit/God/Love was all about. He understood that better than most anybody who has been on earth in many years. Jesus also was a martyr.
I don't believe that Jesus died for my sins, because I don't believe in sin.
Well - actually - I believe in the acronym for SIN. Self Inflicted Nonsense.
However - if it helps you to be closer to God to believe that Jesus died for you - then that's fine.
I don't know what you mean by "the other gods" - as there is only ONE. We just call it different things. You call it God/Jesus. I call it Love. As soon as everybody starts to understand that there is just ONE God - the world will be a much more peaceful place.
Blessings!

It is the most wonderful thing that has happened in the entire life of man. Even "cooler" is that he defeated death and rose victorious. That he loved us enough to do this when he could have easily destroyed his persecutors with a thought is incredible. That he loved even those persecutors and forgave them and asked for forgiveness from his father in their behalf goes beyond incredible. Each and every day I am amazed at his love and sacrifice. I have been the recipient of so many of his miracles that I have no doubt of his existence. One in particular was when I lay in a hospital bed on life support while my husband and sister prayed for guidance after the doctor recommended "pulling the plug" because I would never recover and never be more that a "vegetable". When my husband came in to tell me good by I opened my eyes and smiled around the respirator tube. Yes, he is cool indeed.
Thank you for asking! I will pray for you!!!

Why would I need God to die for me?
Why would God need to die in order to change his own rules? Especially when people could already repent their sins directly to God - no animal sacrifice needed - without Jesus.
I love God - I just don't think Christians get it right. And that they limit God in many ways. They see this world as a place of sin and corruption. But God made it! It is still a beautiful gift from God - no matter who we've mucked it up.
I have a close, loving and personal relationship with God. More so then when I was Christian. When I was Christian I had a personal relationship with God - but now what I have surpresses anything I could have imagined. I have serenity and unlimited hope. Not a lack of trials and pain - but hope because of God.
So, why would I need God to die for me? For sins? Why couldn't God do that already?

No one likes to die in that manner. Jesus Christ did not want it. He even prayed GOD to prevent the murder. He died for a purpose any way. This is to revive your spirit that died to the LORD GOD in the Garden of Eden. The purpose of man in creation is to live with GOD in the spiritual. To this effect. the Garden of Eden was in the spiritual. The spirit of man is reserved for a pure and sinless life with GOD. On the other hand, the body of flesh and blood is reserved for life with Satan.
Jesus Christ resurrected so that He could provide man with the opportunity to return to spiritual life with GOD. He remains the only way to the Father. Confirming the New Covenant followed by baptism, together unite you with Christ in his death and resurrection. You are born of water. Your sins are forgiven and you are reconciled with GOD. Your spirit can then be born of the Spirit, inhabit the Spirit to become a Temple in which GOD lives by His Spirit, become a son of GOD and be led by the Spirit to do the will of GOD. John 3:3-8.
If you still miss all of these, then your GOD must have died for you in vain.

I think it is great. Not only does it show how much he loves us. Someone could love another person across the room and never see them again. But the fact that he humbled himself enough to come down and die for us is amazing. He is a true servant. I love him with all my heart and will be excited to go up to him and give him a big huge hug in heaven.
"the greatest love a person can show is to die for his freinds." John 15:13. He died to show his love for us, to save us from spending enternity in a tormenting and horrible place. He is my brother, my savior, and my friend. I love him for that and so much more.
GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL HER INHABITANTS!!!!
K.K.

My God is born and dies for me every year -- His body is the fruit of the Earth, sacrificed so that all may live, of all faiths (or no faith at all).
Now THAT is love, if you want to start making comparisons.

Uh... no. God NEVER died for us. He sent his son to do that... so... yea... of that I am thankful (though I hardly think the death of anyone is cool...)
And ther-in lies your flaw with this whole idea... the "idea" of a God is indestructable, undying... unfallable... so that also makes God just like the other Gods (which in retrospect is usually jsut a different religions variation on God in general)
You question is geared towards those of the Christian faith and the whole "holier than thow" hint within reeks of someone playing kiss *** instead of practing the true word of the lord.
Do some research before you open your thought process to everyone next time... just a suggestion of course.

God doesnt NEED to die for us!
God is the Ever-Living, the All-Powerful, the Free of All Needs.
God sends Messengers to humanity to guide us, and God's forgiveness is greater than our sins. All one h as to do when overcome with sins is repent and turn to God in sincerity.
