Well, at zero calories, no trans-fats, and coming in both the chewy and crispy variety, boogers are just what any on-the-go dieter is looking for in a snack food!
He may be on to something!

Hate is a really strong word, and probably should be reserved for BIG stuff. On the other hand perhaps he didn't have a mother who cared much. Nose picking should not be done in public, or private, but especially not in public! Are you a close enough friend to just tell him you love (LIKE) him to death, but...? I don't think any human is 'disposable'!
