I was going through a time in my life that I thought was tough. I had gone away from my church. I was living next door to people of a faith that was totally different than mine. They had a child that had cancer. This was so hard for me to understand and I thought that they handled so much better that me. Their church group supported them so much and I had talked to many of them. I was so confused, they made me feel more confused about my faith. When their baby died I was hurt and a little angry at God. I went to the service at their church and their "leader" that's what they called him made such sense to me. I came home and called my Mom and she said "let God lead, read your Bible". I just randomly opened it and as big as life "BEWARE OF WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING" I started reading my Bible daily and I know now that God will lead me to where I need to be.

Some yrs ago, I was sitting on my front porch during a warm summer night...there was a clear view of the nighttime stars...before this I had read in the Bible John 6, 35-37..and .was sitting there thinking about these verses...feeling "doubtful" and "hopeless" and said this prayer:
God if there's hope..if you hear me...if you're really there" I need PROOF ! So I sat and thought more...then in a somewhat angry way, I looked up at the night sky at all those stars and stared for awhile...and I said to God....OK, if you're really there and you care, then send me a SHOOTING STAR to see in this sky, right here and right now...if I see one, and a brilliant one..right before my eyes..I'll KNOW for a fact you are there and that you care!
IN AN INSTANT, I SAW THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SHOOTING STAR FLASH ACROSS THE SKY !!!
I Believe without doubt now !!Praise God !

I have had many
However one of the most recent involved an incident in which I and my family were closely involved, where we and a rather large group of people felt distinctly called by the Lord to pursue a certain path, and our friends unfortunately didn't recognize and treated us as traitors. Our group and certain members especially (including us) were deeply moved and saddened by the rejection we felt.
The Lord led me to pray for the group one morning, and I opened the bible to Isaiah 43. The entire chapter applied, but these verses stood out especially:
18 "Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
I later found out the one of the key persons in our group had taken this passage years ago (before all this took place) as his very favourite, and never quite knew what the Lord had intended for him in it's words. Now he knew as we pursued our goal of following the Lord and doing His will.

I was in Hawaii, sitting on a hotel deck in December. I was reading the Benedicite from the Catholic Bible (from the "Song of the Three Children") - the part that says "All whales and things of the deep - praise ye the Lord"
And just then, I looked up - and a whale breached and jumped out of the water - just off shore.
It gave me new appreciation that God really did make it all!

I was probably in third grade give or take and decided to read the whole Bible. I was impressed when I discovered that there was a Book of Judith - my name. I was impressed at that age to learn about this woman whom if I recall correctly was quite heroic for her time.

One time someone asked from me a question and I just did not know how I should answer it. I went to the park and walked. I listened the Bible CD, and suddenly it felt like God gave me the answer. It was awesome. I was able to quote God's Word.
That actually happens a lot in my life. Even when I choose not to use His Words. : )

The first time I read the book of John. It showed me who Jesus really is. John's Gospel is my most favorite of the books of the Bible. It is very inspiring every time I read it.
