I want to change my look, i have dark brown hair, and i want to put some highlights in, i so think that light brown hair will look better as a base before i throw the highlights in, but my freind is telling me to do medium brown as the base, what do u think is better, since i dont like the typical looking hair that i see every day, dark color/extra light color in one :S , plz let me know, i have a medium skin tone..10x!

Hey, i think you are on the right path....i have seen dark haired women with blond streaks, and blonde women with dark streaks, and it doesnt look right.....
If you keep it all different shades of brown, it might not pop out as much, but it will be subtle, and nicer

K well u dont really need a base unless us want the highlights to look suddel and natural u can do that but its lots more work what i did i have light brown hair and i but a golden blonde highlights in it and it looks really good its on the verge of not looking natural but everyone thinks it looks pretty good lol so its relly your choice on what you want.

either ur base is light brown or ur streaks r light brown k so dark brown base and light brown streaks!! or medium brown base wit dark blonde streaks!!
