The only way to raise your grade is to faithfully do your homework and study, study, study!!! When you get your homework and tests back, look at what you did wrong and learn the correct answers. If you don't understand what you did wrong, ask your teacher. Even teachers are not infallible, and it is possible that you got something marked wrong when it was in fact right. If you find yourself falling behind, or getting grades lower than you want, talk to your teacher right away for ideas on what you need to improve. By nature, most teachers want their students to succeed and therefore, they are usually willing to help. Your teacher may also be willing to assign some extra credit work that will help you improve your grade.
As for the test tomorrow, review your notes and highlight the most important notes. Review the chapters in your textbook--if there is time, quickly scan all the written material. If not, scan the section headings and the questions in the back of the chapter. Be sure to know the definitions of special terms mentioned in the chapters. Also, be sure to know the names and some important facts about all the historical figures mentioned in the chapters. If your teacher is really "into" specific dates, learn them. (NOTE ONLY FOR FUTURE TESTS--YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS FIRST TO SEE IF IT WORKS WHEN A TEST IS NOT THE NEXT DAY: FOR MEMORIZING THINGS LIKE DATES AND DEFINITIONS, TRY READING OVER THE LIST SEVERAL TIMES JUST BEFORE YOU GO TO BED. THEN THINK ABOUT THEM AS YOU ARE GOING TO SLEEP. IF YOU ARE LUCKY, YOU WILL KNOW THEM WHEN YOU WAKE UP.) If you have had quizzes on the same material, review the questions and answers on the quizzes. When you get your test, first scan the whole test and quickly answer the questions whose answers you know you know. Then go back and answer the rest of the questions. Put a little "tic" mark by ones whose answers you are not sure about. When the test is complete, go back and review your answers to those with the tic marks to be sure you are still comfortable with your answers. Then, go back and review the rest of the test to be sure you didn't make an obvious mistake.

First of all, listen a lot in class and memorize everything. Secondly, go ahead of the class and learn more advanced stuff so you be ready. And do not study too much, studying too much always gets me to forget what i just read. thats how I seriously got a 98% last marking period. Oh, and dont tell anyone, but sometimes, innocence also works. They favor your behaviour and strive to get good grades and give you a high grade anyway.
For the test, if you know what the test will be on, study just those areas, and then later on, go WAY ahead of the class.
And dont study what you already know, read what you dont so many times you finally understand.

try making school your first priority and study. For the test I suggest you do note cards. Do all the homework and you should be fine.
Last year I got lazy and got a bad grade the first semester but raised it from B- to A-A+'s

for me i rarely study and my grades are pretty good
just as long as u pay attention and ask questions during class
for ur test tom. most teachers provide the answers in other questions later on the test
so use the test to take the test
get it?
