This is a very good question which I think can be best addressed by folks in the "Society and Culture--Culture and Groups--Gay, Lesbian, Transgendered" section of Yahoo Answers. Why not repost?? You'll likely get more answers from people who have actually gone through this.

I used to have a problem with it. I am bisexual. I have what I want in my wife: a companion and sexual partner. We have a wonderful family, live in a nice place, have a semitraditional household in that I am a stay-at-home dad. She doesn't know.

I would be with a man if it were more socially acceptable, but I found my wife first and am happy with my choices.

I am not actually afraid of coming out, I just don't want to. I'll see how the next 20 years go, as the last 20 has been really encouraging concerning the ability to leave the closet and participate fully in our communities.

I think that maybe seeing a counselor would help a lot. None of us are sure about anything these days. You have to take care of yourself first. Your mental health and strength are just as important as your physical well being. You can't be happy with yourself if you're not sure where you need to be.

Maybe you could try Courage, a support group for people with same sex attraction who choose to live celibate lives. Try Googling it and see what you get.

I would imagine stress and guilt. Especially if he marries and has children.

Try Google Scholar to search. They might have some research articles on it.
