is god worthy of praise?

Question

lets assume god exists.

god is willing to send those who do not reciprocate belief in him to be tortured for all eternity. god plays no part in society...meaning he does not interact with us, he does not save people, he does not ward off evil.

were god to exist and he to care for us then its logical to assume that god would take care of his flock. the sheep know the sheperd exists because the sheperd wards off wolves.

since the "sheep" (people) are constantly eaten off by wolves (crappy things :P ) its safe to assume that there is no shepherd watching us and/or protecting us.

so the question is, after all weve seen, experienced and been witness to....is god worth praising?

my answer is a resounding "no"

You spend so much time and energy belittling Christians, why don't you take that time and energy and make changes in this world. Remember the quote, "ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE".
I love my Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ. I'm proud of who I am; perfect, NO; I'll never be that and you or anyone will be. We were born into this world to be tested and to make choices. No one needs to judge another, and all I hear from you is condemnation to Christians and their believes. Are you that unhappy with your life that you love to cause hate and discontent? L@@K around, see the beautiful things in life. Also, have you made a list of all your blessings lately? I know that Jesus Lives, and my Father in Heaven is a loving Father. But, this is MY testimony, these our MY choices. Don't condemn someone who makes a choice different from yours.
True HAPPINESS is feeling the love of our Father in Heaven. I pray you might be able to feel that love someday.

My friend, I must strongly disagree with your statement. Not only is God worthy of praise, he is the only one worthy of our praise. It is true that bad things happen to people every day, this is a part of life which is unavoidable. Although life is not all roses for true Christians life seems to me to be more enjoyable. Let me ask you a question if I may, how often have you spoken with God? Have you ever given God any consideration? Have you welcomed him into your life?

A relationship with God is not a one sided venture. God is the best friend you can possibly have but you need to make him the Pilot of your life, not the stewardess getting you drinks. One last thought, if there were no difficulties in life don't you think people would get pretty cocky and start thinking that they really didn't need God? Faith is more than getting sure fire protection and answers.

your question brings out many falsehoods. the first is that people who don't believe in God are tortured for all eternity. They are not tortured, they just won't exist. Perhaps if you took a look at the world that hasn't decided to discredit God, which is the non Western world where you will see many times over God working in powerful ways. your assumptions are false therefore your conclusion is false. Yes, God is worthy to be praised. It's not his fault that you don't trust him and ask him to help you out.

Yes, because I believe, I trust in the written word, I know that God is a just, mercifully, loving, worthy... I am a child of the most high King. I believe because I have faith. Bad thing happen because their is evil in the world as well. God does save. He saves us from an eternal life in hell if we accept Him. He sent His only son to die for our sins! how can you say we do not have a Shepperd? I know that I have one, a great one.

I'm not going to lie. The concept of hell terrifies me. Sometimes I have a hard time keeping faith. I do sometimes stray from the path. But I'm Christian. I love JESUS CHRIST. Yes, there is a possibility for that to change. But, GOD is so forgiving. I can stray from the path, run from my fears, and have dry spells in my faith, but HE always forgives me, always pulls me back. HE gave us life and the chance for an eternal one after we die. Why not praise HIM? HE understands our weaknesses, knows our faults. HE knows you better than you know yourself. I'm sorry that you don't believe. There is so much joy and happiness in GOD, so much security. HE loves you. I hope that I answered your question and maybe gave you some insight on why GOD and JESUS CHRIST are so wonderful. Yes.

WE are the ones that leave the flock.
WE are the ones that refuse his care at times.
WE run to the wolf.

He does interact in our lives, and will interact in our afterlives, where the REAL saving then, hopefully, comes into effect.

The real question is, are we worthy to be interracted with, let alone saved?
