i left my 1 year old at the usual day care for four days. when i retrieved him his eyes were red, he is panting non stop and his sexual organ is protruding. (not at all usual) he was in the sun most of the day and drank a lot of water when he came inside. he is not neutered.

thanks for the replies. he has stopped panting seems to be returning to his old self. the daycare did leave unattended at times and i will discuss with them about that practice. will monitor and responded with a trip to the vet if deemed necessary.

he sound over heated and there might have been a lady-freind there too...go see a vet.... between the heat and being some dogs are in season now he is probably way over excited/overheated.... might need sub-q fluids....good luck...smile
ps..might think about getting him neutered...as there are so many unwanted dogs/puppies out there getting put to sleep daily... and there isn't alot of $$ in breeding dogs....smile
pss...get another doggy daycare... they sound a little irisponsable (sp?)

Sounds like he may be very dehydrated and could also have sun stroke. First dampen a towel and wrap him in it, this will help lower his body temp. Then get in your car and get to the vets.
Send the vet bill to the dogie daycare. They were negligent.
