We got him these cute little toy balls with those bells inside, and i threw it 4 him once, and he ran after it, and brought it back! This is a little strange!

strange? not really. Kitty loves you & wants to play with you.
at worst, his playing fetch is just a little odd to you. hell,it's less work than trying to hunt for the toys all over every time you throw them;I say encourage it. I think it beats trying to paw them out from under the back of the couch yourself.

it's also part of the hunting instinct. like the big cats hunt & bring back their kill for their family, the little ones do too. You can smile at the fact that Kitty doesn't leave maimed carcasses of any kind at your feet & only brings you cat toys.
My cats over the years have done both.

Not strange. It's the game that he wants to play and you're doing it so well.
I've had two cats that played fetch. One would do it for hours and then lay down and sleep the night only to show up on my bed as the alarm went, with the ball in his mouth to play again. He would do it every couple of months.
The other was a Siamese that did it only when he wanted to. We called him Dawg.

Some cats have a dog complex, he probably just likes when you throw the thing, cat's don't understand throwing so he might be fascinated by it, don't over do it, he will get bored but do mix the behavior with treats and petting and the word FETCH, you will have something cool to show to your guests!.

My kitty loves to see me throw things, she doesn't fetch like yours but she enjoys when we throw stuff .

Cats bring "gifts" to their owners. Mine used to bring me animals that she had hunted. Another cat that I had would fetch and return the rings off of a milk carton. It's really fun for people to see if they've never seen it before. Have you considered taping it and posting it on youtube.com? It would probably be a huge hit!

My cat did this when she was young as well. It is something that they will grown out of unfortunately. As they get more mature they couldn't see themselves doing something so silly!(i think that is how cats think anyway).

Enjoy it whilst you can. My cat used to love the caps off bottled water, she used to flip them over until she could could pick it up in her mouth and bring it back.

I love it when there kittens there so naughty and love to explore everything and then they just get old and mature and you miss them when they are crazy like a kitten.

I don't know, but if you find out drop me a line as my cat does the same thing!

I just throw it and he brings it back until I am tired of it and I hide his toy. He acts so pleased when he brings it back too and prances around with his tail in the air.

Mine used to do that when he was a baby and we had a long bathroom we could play in. since then though, we've not had any straight-a-ways to do it in. :(

Thats quality time right there.

Btw, my kitty loved it best when i threw it in the tub and he had to bounce around to get it. LOL.
