I just bought an 07 jeep wrangler, 2 door and its a soft top. I cant get the back window off...do i take the back window off or fold it in? i cant seem to get those stupid knobs off above the door frames to start folding the top back either. I dont have an appointment yet with a jeep associate as they are closed right now and i want to do this tomorrow morning. any help or a website perhaps would be appreciated. btw, the directions suck from Jeep as they skip from the rubicon, the 4 door then back to the regular jeep wrangler without really telling you. pretty annonying, again...any help would be appreciated.

thanks.

I just bought one too. You don't mess with those knobs at all. Un-do the two clips above the windshield first. Unzip and remove the rear window(s). DON'T ROLL THEM UP. Keep flat. Then, just behind the front door on each side is a little slot you can fit your finger into and pull out and up to pry the top off. Do one side then the other, then fold the top back. Mine is a four-door and I have to remove the rear and side rear windows, don't know about the two door. Hope this helps a little.

Not sure if your's is the same as mine, but I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara and there is a bar that runs through the bottom of the back window. Take your hands and twist upwards so that the bar will pop out of the grooves. Once you get it out, then you will be able to remove the back window.

As for the knobs above the doorframe, they should just twist, like a screw. Your top will have to be off before you can get the knobs off though.

You will have to lower your sunvisors, and unlatch the top from over the windshield. Make sure that you pull the plastic pieces out from the doorframe that are attached to the top.

Also, remember that your top is more flexable in warm weather.

Hope this helps.

i'm 6' 6" and that i think of it rather is extremely uncomplicated now. on the commencing up, this is going to be complicated (and constantly it will be slightly stressful), inspite of the undeniable fact that this is easiest whilst your precise has been out interior the sunlight, because of the fact the fabric is warmer. warmer=greater greater suitable=much less tightness. 4-door could be slightly harder to pull down as quickly as you pop the front latches (and sunrider if it has it), yet the two are extremely uncomplicated to pull down as quickly as you're particularly experienced with it. in case you do get it, don't be afraid to pull LIKE HELL on the rear window zipper. in case you intend on severe off-highway, get the two door, it rather is shorter so it has greater useful physique of techniques/departure angles. and would in positive condition on narrower rocks and hills. The 4 door is nice for off-highway too, yet the two door handles rockier trails greater useful, and those probably ninety degree hill-tops. The 4 door would be a greater useful on a daily basis/ on-highway motor vehicle because of the fact it has extra area for passengers. The back of a 2 door is cramped as hell. in case you do not plan on any off-highway, i don't see a factor in getting a wrangler. it rather is an angled container on wheels, and would not have a mattress to hold crap in. yet they do look noticeably attractive :)
