Without trying to slam what are quite obviously your beliefs on the subject, I'll take a stab at an answer. Primates such as monkeys and the great apes occupy entirely different lines of evolutionary descent from that of homo sapiens. The trouble with your question is that it presupposes that man descended from monkeys. Obvously, we did not. However, it is also pretty clear that we are related to modern primates but that they are not ancestors but are instead more like distant cousins. What evolutionary theory does predict is that if one traces the descent of man, the great apes, and lesser primates, one will eventually find a place where the different lines of descent come together in a common ancestor that would by now be extinct.

It's pretty clear from your question that you don't believe any of that, but you asked for the answer according to evolutionary theory, and that is it.

Seriously? Again with the monkey question... Here's the deal. Evolution does not mean that monkeys evolved into humans. Evolution means that there was a common ancestor in the distant past, one that both humans and monkeys branched off of. Sheesh. If creation is true, then why is there still dirt?

How old are you? You should know that evolution isnt a simple straight line from one species to another! Species branch off and take different evolutionary paths. By asking this you are assuming that you are better or more evolved than a monkey which isn't true. Just because people breed a new type of dog doesn't mean all the other breeds drop dead.

Primates are mammals that incorporate lemurs, monkeys, apes and human beings. The Strepsirrhini, or “moist-nosed” primates, which incorporate lemurs and lorises, branched off around sixty 3 million years in the past. previous international monkeys and apes divided from New international monkeys approximately 40 million years in the past. Aegyptopithecus zeuxis, which probable resembles the basic ancestor of latest international monkeys and apes, lived approximately 29 million years in the past. The apes chop up from previous international monkeys approximately 25 million years in the past. human beings and chimpanzees diverged 5-7 million years in the past. So specific on each chop up the unique have been given left at the back of to stay because it grew to become into! yet have been theyunlucky? i'm specific that lots of the "left at the back of" species are completely happy as they're and that there are a good many human beings that does no longer recommendations paying for and merchandising places with them!!!

If you were born of your parents, why are they still here (or were here after your birth)? Humans and apes (not monkeys) have a common ancestor. We are like cousins, it is not a linear path, there wasn't an ape who had a baby human. More like sisters, one who had kids that were a little more human-like and one who had kids a little more ape-like. If you interbreed poodles and german shepherds, you still have poodles and german shepherds, even if the offspring become a new breed. By the way, when trying to catch someone in logic, spell properly. Its monkeys not monkies.

Evolutionary Theory doesn't state that mankind decended from monkeys. Monkeys and human decended from a common ancestor. Some sort of proto-primate and through the years the differences between its offspring widened till you get to the state that we are at today.

1 - Learn to spell
2 - It's a common ancestor - Not monkeys
3 - Neanderthals and Homo sapiens were around at the same time - Evolution is a slow process
4 - If we were all created in "God's" image - how come we look differant? How come we're not perfect? Etc

If u believe that God is on your side, why doesn't he correct u in your spelling and save u from this form of embarassment?

Evolution is true but God (Elohim) stepped in and sped up the process. U may ask how this was done; well it was done through genetic manipulation. That's right & the bible supports it.

God made the entire universe from nothing but when it came to us, he used an "element" from the earth. In the bible its called dust but in the Hebrew language the word was 'ADAMAH' which meant 'of the earth/ dark reddish soil'. U can see the name Adam in there & this goes to show Adam was not his name but 'Adam' was describing what he was.

This "ADAMAH" was the evoluted man who God/ Elohim took and gave "the image & likeness" of themselves to. Thus we are the finished product while our primate cousins are still on their natural course.

*drink* well, this is the second most asked question in Religion & Spirituality.. have you tried looking at the 249,000 other times this question was asked to get your answer?

1. We didn't evolve from monkeys.
2. Your lack of knowledge of evolution makes it impossible for us to answer your question without a detailed class on evolution 101.

Please study evolution and understand what the term "common ancestor" means before asking again.
