goes out with somebody in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade? Is it really a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship? Or is it more like a friendship? Because I am 14 and have never had a boyfriend and there are like 8, 9, 10, and 11 year olds that have had boyfriends.

If you are "dating" in 4th or 5th grade it's just like "dating" in high school, besides the maturity, and experience. If they don't hangout or "date" outside of school, it isn't really dating.

I dont know these young kids are like trying to grow up so fast, or act old so fast, I feel the same way, my little cousin is in 6th grade which is still considered elementary and like even last year too but anyways she'd alwasy talk about these people having boyfriends and girlfriends and kissing in corners and using the words gay, lesbian, f@g and stuff like that and I'd freak out, I barely got my first boyfriend, first kiss in 9th grade!! I barely got my period in 9th grade, and these little kids are getting them younger and younger! I think they're just stupid, maybe crushes or friendships but boyfriend and girlfriends please that ridiculous

At that age, what can they really be doing that qualifies as romantic behavior? With kids that age, it's just a way for them to deal with their "crushes" for each other. And trust me; you're certainly not the only 14 year old who has never had a boyfriend. Relationships at that age almost never evolve. Wait until you find a guy you really like and who likes you back; it'll happen one day.

im 11 years old and yes i hve had b.f.s some relationships r diffierent thn others- @my friends old skool, u wood go up to any ol guy and say boyfriend? and then u wood auitomaticaaly be b.f. and g.f. othes hve had serious relationships. Wait, ur time will come!

you cud go out with this guy for 10 more years and still not know and you could have just gone out with him once and you might know.
Its a feel...its those butterflies in your stomach..its those memories that make you smile when he isnot around..not the time that you have spent with him. If you and he feel the same way, then yes you are bf/gf otherwise no you are friends :-)

it is sorta just both, friends and really liking them. part of it is just to say they are going out with someone. i am happy that you have waited to go out with someone, because since you are older you will actually like the person!
