She always says I cant do the majority of my english work in class...only what we are doing at the time....like, I write better at home because that class is so loud so I try doing my other work...then she says I HAVE to write my story right NOW. Then I leave my binder in her class and she doesnt remember where she put it or if she even found it. Now I am going to get an F on my work for that. Then I ask her to read my papers and she says she is always too BUSY...so how am I supposed to know if it is okay...
She is just so annoying and picks favorites...what do you think of all this whining? Any pointers?

I agree that only YOU can decide if someone else can tell you how to feel.

Here are a couple of ideas:
Use the classtime to write, but only work on brainstorming ideas. If the teacher sees that you are working on something related to the writing process, then you will come into favor; this way you can work on your true paper at home.

Be sure you place your binder in the right place - some students "leave them in the classroom" but they are under desks, on teacher's desks or on random bookshelves. Ask for clarification where the binder goes so that the teacher sees you place it there (but don't be snotty about it).

You should keep copies of your work. Most work for English is now typed, so I would recommend a jump drive for easy access to your work; this way if a teacher "loses" your work, you can easily provide backup copies.

The BEST way to resolve this is to talk to the teacher during a slow time (schedule a meeting before school, after school or at lunch). Explain your frustration with writing in class & ask if there is another option...library? Resource room? where it would be quieter. Most teachers do feel rushed during the day & are easily frustrated by students who look like they are "wasting" classtime. If you take a minute to actually TALK to the teacher instead of complaining to others, you may enjoy the rest of the year. Teachers ALWAYS respond well to students who are willing to take the time to improve the educational process. Again - don't go in with an attitude; go in "disarmed" saying, "I want to do well, but I need your help, please..."

You should only do english work in english class. I understand that the noise level may make it hard but maybe you can just set up an outline or something instead of the real writing.

Lots of students leave stuff everywhere. It's not her job to look after your stuff.

If she's not taking the time to help you in class then that's probably a good sign - she probably has to get to the weaker students to get them started okay.

Then again, she may just be annoying, many teachers are.

It's not the teacher - it's you.

You can choose whether or not she annoys you - it's all your choice.
