It's hard for me to face the fact that I have an eating disorder, and I just can't get the words out of my mouth to ask for it.

Its easily hidden because you don't want to let it out...emotional pain is the hardest to tell someone about b/c its so personal and some people are embarrassed to tell anyone there secrets...but in order to get over these problems you need to tell someone or write it down and then show someone what you wrote its much easier then talking to the person up close good luck with your eating disorder and i hope you find someone who can help you i know what your going through and its tough but u can beat it! :)

I'd like to say to those of us who suffer from this it is because we were conditioned as young children to deny ourselves and put others first.
So we never really emotionally matured or learned proper coping skills at a young age. So we grow up stuffing our emotions, some turn to drugs, some to sex, some to alcohol, some to food, some to shopping, and we self destruct, and wonder why? We are always told our feelings are wrong, and what you feel cannot be wrong. Anyway, I've been dealing with getting a lifetime of guilt, stress, anger, hurt, loss, ect off of my chest by journaling, and it is a very theraputic method. I wish you all the best, hope this helps in some way, and remember always, take care of you.

I also have an eating disorder, compulsive overeating disorder. It may not sound serious, but believe me, it is. Try using the 12-Steps of AA or OA which is Overeaters Anonymous, and you will find the help and courage you need to help yourself. Sometimes we can't ask for help, because of pride. We don't want to admit we have a problem because we think it takes away from our dignity. In OA you learn that you have to be humble, and actually want help. Same way with emotional pain, it also needs help sometimes. But again, sometimes we have too much pride to ask for help. And again, we have to "eat humble pie" and ask for help. Us recovering alcoholics/addicts, all had to learn how to eat humble pie if we wanted help to get clean and sober. A lot of these problems are based in emotional pain. Honey, get help with your pain, and the eating disorder may take care of itself.

Great pain is often paired off with great anger. Often people are afraid to display anger or even fear because of what results might come from this. People sometimes 'control' their anger by turning it in themselves. This, in turn, leads to self-destructive and non-productive actions whether it be over-eating, self-mutilation, alcoholism, etc.
You might need to face your fears and/or anger before this gets too far. You might want to talk to a counselor or enter therapy.

Sometimes emotional pain never goes away completely. Please be on guard against sin, sin is the reason for our emotional pain very often. You must ask for help, don't let this disorder rob you of life, confront it now, you are so young.

Write it down, as you have done here, and read the note, or just hand it to your doctor: a tape recording is another option (my cheap $60 Nokia cellular mobile can handle this). See http://www.selfhelpmagazine.com & http://mediwire.healingwell.com/main/Default.aspx? (/main/Default.aspx?) and enter "eating disorders"
