Yes, that stopped me coming on here for ages, until my friend dragged me back kicking and screaming. No need for abusive 'put-downs' however 'witty' they are supposed to be. I very rarely post answers any more because of this...it spoils the spirit of the site.

I like to imagine them being involved in really horrific industrial accidents, the kind that turn people into paste or fine red mists. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy, and when others see me smiling they say "What a friendly chap!". They don't know my secret. Shhhhhhh...

i can be mean sometimes but not rude ! i just type what i want if people dont like it im sorry but thats how i feel !! sometimes it is funny but i dont take everything to heart as the people on here dont mean anything to me (i dont mean it in a bad everyone cause i think your all great ) but i wont get upset or angry because someone says something horrible it isnt worth the energy !

If they are witty, then no...I think they are amusing. If they are simply crude and full of profanity then---yes. A lot of people come onto YA airing their dirty laundry and then expecting support. When they don't get it, they interpret the answer as mean. I don't think they are in that case either. I think they are just being honest.

na, cant hate anybody i dont know personally. i suppose though if i recieved a poison pen letter calling me a retard or such like i would be upset but its the internet nobody can touch you. ignore the jibes and verbal jousts.

Well, i think it depends on the question asked. If someone is obviously needing a serious answer, it is rude to be funny or silly.

Well..I only post those kind of answers to someone who asks a really stupid question. I agree I do hate those kind of answers. I get them too. But, some questions deserve the smart *** answers.

i dunno...sometimes its nice to wind the day down by going off on a stupid question. that's my experience anyways
lots of people answer rudely because this is a place where opinions are free to clash, and occasionaly those clashes are a bit violent and opinions are forcibly expressed
