There is no way to answer that question. The church has doctrines, teachings, and beliefs that apply to certain situations, but it is impossible to sum them up for you. What the Catholic Church does is pull its teaching from scripture, tradition, and the work of the church "fathers." It's a lot more complicated than that, though.

When it comes to an individual making a decision, the best I can answer is that if that person takes the decision seriously and carefully studies scripture, church teaching, tradition, the human sciences involved and one's own experience and AFTER praying over all that makes a decision, well, that is between that person and God.
