funny, I was talking to someone last night, and after pointing out what a horrible being was in the old testament. He proceeded to tell me that the old testament was written by satan because god couldn't possible have been capable of the mass genocide, selfish sacrifices, ect....

Your point is well taken|
He has found his way into many *translations* of the Bible|
These translations are inauthentic renditions of the original.
A big example is the Catholic New Revised Standard translation approved by the Canadian bishops for readings at Mass|
That thing is erroneous big time, as feminist politics seem to guide the translators rather than fidelity to theological and linguistic principles|
You know that something is wrong in the Church when our Canadian bishops teach something other than the official Church teachings|
For example, the Church's traditional teaching is that salvation is about saving our souls for eternity and avoiding hell by fighting sin in our lives and attempting to live virtuously with the help of prayer and the sacraments|
Now something has really gone off the rails when you get a bishop defining salvation as harmony with our neighbor (seemingly implying that our existence ends with the grave)|
I am not exaggerating this, as you can walk into almost any Catholic Church on a Sunday and hear a nice social justice talk or something about interpersonal relationships| You hardly hear anything at all any more about heaven, hell, judgment, that sin is the worst evil, sanctifying grace that first comes through baptism, the sinlessness of Mary, the virtues of obedience, chastity, and charity (the last of which has been transferred to the "virtue" of social action)
I am not bashing the Catholic Church because I am a Catholic who believes in all that the Church teaches|
However, what the Church teaches (through Her Magisterium) and what individual priests, bishops, and catechists teach, could be at total variance - which is now the case in Canada and much of the U.S.
The Church has now entered a state of apostasy if that is not mind-boggling|
Our Lord said that the gates of hell cannot prevail against Her, but she can certainly be crucified and buried before rising on the third day (in following Her Lord), and that is exactly what is happening now|

God is everywhere. Satan isn't God.
I am pretty sure satan doesn't want you to know his game plan as the bible gives us quite a few descriptors regarding his mask and method of attack.
Mask: Wolf in sheeps clothing
2nd Cor14And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Method: Deception
John 8v
44Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Angry with those who?
Rev 12v
17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

He does use the Word of God all the time. His specialty is taking it out of context and throwing it back at people. That's why we learn the Bible so that we can't be deceived when the devil tries to use it. Satan isn't everywhere, he's just been around so long that he knows human nature and their weaknesses.

Satan is NOT everywhere. Who told you that little piece of fiction? Or did he tell you that in a vain attempt to make himself sound like God's equal?
One of the mightiest acts of God has been the preservation of His word thru the millenia. I could go into detail, but I doubt you'd listen. So I will instead assume you'll take my word that God's word, the Bible, is quite intact and unchanged. Never mind what others say to the contrary.

Satan is in the Bible so we can understand who He is and how he will try to decieve us, and the consequences for being deceive. But Satan is not everywhere, and he is also under God's control.

God is everywhere and in everything GOOD conquers EVIL. The Bible is God's HOLY Word. There is no sin in what is HOLY! Satan is sin so therefore he cannot have control over the Bible!

Well, Satan is a character in the Bible. Jesus confirmed the Old Testament, and promised the New Testament. I am confident that the Bible is inspired word of God. : )

If you read the Bible, there are many accounts of Satan. How else would have heard about him?

I am sure because of the character of God and the Devil is clearly seen in the Scriptures. It is in the character of Satan to cause fear, division, despair, and alienation. It is in the character of God to cause life, hope, and unity through His love. Since such things as life, hope, and unity through His love are found within the scriptures, and are lived realities, then it is God found in the Scriptures and Satan only mentioned to warn us.
If Satan were to be found in the Scriptures, then we would profess fear, division, despair, and alienation as ultimate realities. Since a Christian does not profess these things as the ultimate realities of life then Satan has not found his way into the Scriptures.
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He let the light of His face shine upon you.
God's and your beast of burden
