Make sure your breakfast is high in protein, such as non- or low-fat dairy products [i.e., milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, hard cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, etc.)], eggs, grains, seeds, and nuts (try spreading some peanut butter on a bagel). Also, avoid eating only carbohydrates for breakfast because they help stimulate the brain to use tryptophan, the chemical that makes you tired after a turkey dinner.

Drink plenty of wanter on the days before the test to make sure you're properly hydrated, and keep your caffeine consumption to a minimum.

My first tip is too consume a fair amount of carbohydrates before your test. I suggest a bagel or a muffin. Try to keep away from sugars. Try and drink milk and not a sugared juice. Milk digests much more evenly than sugared beverages and the bit of healthy fat that is in it will keep you more full. You definitely want to get protein in so maybe put some peanut butter on your muffin (peanut butter is a great source of low-fat protein). The best tip is too eat something that you love and that is familiar in addition to what will get you through the day.

-Okay so putting these together, I suggest: Milk (not skim), either a bagel or a muffin with peanut butter, 2 eggs, an apple (is healthy and is a great stomach filler), and a moderate portion of something you love to eat. Coffee- if you really need it.
-Also definately pack powerbars and trailmix so that you can eat them, if hungry, during breaks.

Hopefully this helps!

-try not to stress too much over this aspect and good luck on your test!

I heard on the TV the other day that in fact eating a cooked breakfast ( such as Bacon and eggs, ) is very good before going to class before a test or just to enhance your learning as the protein is excellent for enhancing your memory. Sweet cereals unfortunately did not score high in this regard. Good luck! :)
