Once its on there, its not comming off... there really isnt much you can do because anything strong enough to take it off would be too strong to the point that it would take the paint off or worse, corrode the airplane body... you will see on many airplanes that the deposits are left on there and they will remain until the airplane gets a new paint job...ugly, but a fact of life for many airliners...

On my plane, the exhausts are well enough away from the underside of the wings that it's not much of a problem. Dirty oil is my biggest headache when it comes to keeping her shiny. Believe it or not, I use Dawn dish washing liquid. Works as well as any fancy degreaser I ever bought. Bucket of warm water, sponge and a bottle of Dawn. 2256Q is painted with Imron, and so far I've not seen any damage from using the Dawn.

Go to an fbo, they usually carry a special degreaser just for that. The reason i know is that I work on the line at a small airport and had to crawl under the planes and do just that.

like Tcat, I used to do this at an airport too. We had some spray on stuff called Hot Shot that worked OK, there was always a slight stain that wouldn't come off though.

I am not sure of the name of the stuff - but Aviall has a large selection of cleaning solutions, etc... for all types of aircraft you can also get degreasers, etc.... at http://www.jetstreamproducts.com/ when I worked at and FBO with purchased stuff from both.
Hope this helps!
