The longer the focal length, the greater the magnification. All-purpose 18-200mm lenses made by Tamron and Sigma are popular choices in the $400 range, or for about twice the price, you can get the Nikon version of it, which is a far superior lens and has VR (vibration reduction.)
Nikon also makes a 70-300mm lens that's affordable... I'm assuming that your budget for lenses has limits. If you have a bigger budget, go to the manufacturers' websites and shop around: the lenses I named above are pretty basic in quality and there are some really nice (=$$$) lenses available.
In addition to the focal length, f/ratio is worth considering: a smaller f/ratio means more light-gathering power and therefore shorter exposures. Since you're magnifying the image a lot, you're taking in fewer pixels per unit of time, which means longer exposure time, and higher likelihood of getting blurred images without a tripod. Definitely consider getting a good tripod.

The larger the number the higher the magnification. Such as a 300mm lens has a great magnification than a 200mm lens and a 400mm lens greater than 300mm.

I'm not sure how you plan to use your lens, but you would probably want a lens with the top number between 200 and 300. If you have a camera store nearby and can check them out, I'd recommend doing that!
