may be if you read this you will know that "They were asked in to elevate the suffering of the people at the hands of the ….."

"When Muslims first arrived in Spain in 711 C.E., they constituted mainly Arabs and Berbers of North Africa. Within two decades a majority of the inhabitants of Andalus, especially most of the Unitarian Christians and the oppressed class, accepted Islam freely in recognition of the peace, security and the freedom of religion and expression under the Muslim rule. (Gothic Princess Sara). By 770 C.E. people of all races from North Africa and Arabia migrated to Andalusia (Spain and Portugal). They intermarried with various nationalities including the native Spanish-Muslim population, with the result that Spain became a fairly homogeneous country within a few generations. During the reign of Abdur-Rahman, the 'Falcon of Andalus' (755-788), they began the work of building an Islamic civilization similar to the one already flourishing in Damascus, Baghdad and its many regional centers. Within a century of their activity, they had developed a civilization far in advance of any in Europe. Their great contribution is commonly known as the Moorish Civilization.

Prior to the arrival of the Moors, the Visigothic rivals of King Roderic had gathered along with Jews and Arian Christians fleeing forced conversions at the hands of the Catholic bishops who controlled the Visigothic monarchy. The Egyptian historian Ibn Abd-el-Hakem relates that Roderic's vassal, Julian, count of Ceuta had sent one of his daughters to the Visigothic court at Toledo for education and that Roderic had impregnated her. After learning of this, he made his way to Qayrawan (modern day Tunisia) and requested the assistance of Musa ibn Nusayr, the Muslim governor in North Africa. Personal power politics may have played a larger part, as Julian and other notable families were extremely discontented with the existing status quo in the Visigothic kingdom. In exchange for lands in Andalus, Julian promised ships to carry Ibn Nusayr's troops across the Strait of Hercules (Strait of Gibraltar)."

Same thing the Christian armies were doing in the Near and Middle East in the 11-12th centuries--killing and conquering. And, of course, don't forget the Christians who enslaved millions of Africans, slaughtered native Americans, conquered India and allowed over a milion people to starve so they could growcotton at teh end of the 18th century. Oh, what about the Inquisition? Or the endless slaughters between Christian denominations for 150 years following the Reformation. What about 2000 years of "Christian" anti-Semitism? And if you want to compare religious texts, check out Joshua 8: 24-26.

Like jews and christians, moslems are expansionist. All three religions worship a god who was willing to stop the sun to help out in a battle. Besides, given the alternative, moslem rule was better in the 7th century than christian dark age rule, especially for jews.

Religion doesn't kill people, people do. It is amazing how when alone a person can seem perfectly peaceful, but when combined with dogmatic hope for afterlife rewards and suffering and a group of similar minded people they turn into monsters.

Historically, actually, Christianity is still the most violent religion ever created. It does not mean that all of Christianity's teachings do not promote peace.
